Strong, flexible hip joints give us freedom and ability as we move. Since they help define the position of the pelvis, flexible hip joints are necessary for proper spinal alignment in both standing and sitting positions and help protect the back from strain and wear and tear.
In this three-hour workshop, we will take the hips through their full range of motion. Students will come away with a basic understanding of how the hip joint works. They will become acquainted with their own relative strengths and weaknesses as well as which asanas to practice to bring their hips to a more balanced state. This workshop is appropriate for students new to yoga as well as continuing students. It is well suited for stiff athletes who would like to learn how to improve ease of movement.
